Formerly integrated in the textile economic landscape of the Pilat, (milling, weaving, braids and lace, etc.) passementerie is an eminently valuable skill of the 19^th century. Located in Jonzieux, a commune whose architecture (long houses, high windows, etc.) has been particularly marked by this activity, the Maison de la Passementerie welcomes you to discover the lives of these artisans, their workshops, their work tools. A Jacquard loom weaves the logo of the Pilat Regional Natural Park before your eyes.
Enthusiastic about passementerie, the managers of the house contribute to preserving the local memory by conducting a digital project revolving around passementerie, which will soon become available to the general public to ensure that this skill which played a major economic role in the canton of Saint-Genest-Malifaux is not forgotten.
