Cultural heritage Cévennes National Park

Between the Massif Central and the Mediterranean, Cévennes National Park is a meeting point for two highly contrasting cultures.

In this way, when travelling through the Park from north to south, we pass from the austerity of Lozère architecture to the charm of the sunny villages of the Cévennes piedmont plain. Following the example of the landscape, humans have designed their settlements in accordance with their resources and traditions.

Whether the clochers de tourmente bell towers of Mont Lozère, the limestone farmhouses of the Causses or the schistose terraces of the Cèvenne valleys, this rich heritage shows both the diversity and the typical features of Cévennes national park.
