Grands Causses Regional Natural Park
Landscapes Grands Causses Regional Natural Park
From the Causses to the prairies of Lévézou, from the Rougiers to the Cévennes and Aubrac foothills, come and feel the heartbeat of Grands Causses Regional Natural Park at the pace of the Roquefort milk sheep ranges. The variety of its architectural and scenic heritages is a reflection of a mosaic of geographical entities: The Causses (including the famous Larzac), vast limestone plateaus crisscrossed by deep gorges (Tarn, Dourbie, Jonte) where all outdoor sports can be practiced. The Avant-Causses, with their tableland mountains crossed by open valleys containing the towns of Millau with its famous viaduct, Saint-Affrique, Sévérac-le-Château. Les Rougiers, hills with shimmering colours, which are home to lively villages, abbeys and castles. Les Monts, which are ideal for relaxing breaks on their peaks, covered with forests and crossed by fresh, welcoming, steep-sided valleys.
