Morvan Regional Natural Park
Natural environments Morvan Regional Natural Park
Strolling along the uncountable paths that crisscross the Morvan, no matter how poor your observation skills, you will find the streams to be brimming with pearl mussels or river crayfish.
In the prairies surrounding the peat bogs, man-made but with complete respect for nature, you will find arnica and many varieties of butterflies, such as the Marsh Fritillary.
Deeply hidden in the heavily forested deep vales you may even encounter the golden eyes of Tengmalm's owl.
On the edge of the peat bogs, deposited there by the last glaciations, you will have to learn how to recognise cottonseed or the carnivorous round-leaved sundew.
Rough nature where the peasants of the Morvan have always known to respect what deserves respect. It is thanks to this that all these riches to remain there for us to see.
