Pilat Regional Natural Park
The Park in action Pilat Regional Natural Park
Every Regional natural park is labelled as such for 10 years in accordance with a territorial project: the charter. The charter of the Pilat Park defines the targets to be reached for one decade and the actions to be performed in order to protect the Massif while creating the conditions for sustainable economic development. Local representatives, associations and players of the Pilat came together to draw up this charter and adopt it.
Target 2010: basic points of the charter
To support the growth of the Pilat in the coming ten years, the Park bases its action on a territorial project resting on three key pillars: to assert the rural identity of the Pilat in its urban environment with an economy that is specific to the territory, based on sustainable development and preserving its natural environments and its remarkable landscapes, to establish harmonious cooperation with gateway towns based on the complementary desires and assets of each group, to be open to the region and the world.
The fields for intervention are numerous. Examples include the following: maintaining the network of marked hiking trails, structuring the sector of wood for fuel, maintaining nature by means of integrated teams, drawing up management plans for Priority Environmental Sites, architectural assistance.
